Reviews of the FSA Scientific Advisory Committees

Skip the menu of subheadings on this page.The FSA’s Scientific Advisory Committees (SACs) are non-statutory and advisory non-departmental public bodies (ANDPBs) or Departmental Expert Committees (DECs) which are subject to review.
The purpose of these reviews is to provide regular assurance and challenge for good governance and efficiency of the FSA SACs.

2015/16
In 2015 the FSA commenced a Triennial Review of all SACs for which it was lead or sole sponsor. This followed the Cabinet Office guidance: "Triennial Reviews: Guidance on Reviews of Non-Departmental Public Bodies" effective from 1st April 2014.
2022/23
In 2022 the FSA commenced Public Body Reviews of all SACs for which it was lead or sole sponsor. This followed Cabinet Office's Public Bodies Review Programme which was published 26th April 2022.
